Keep Your Life in Balance...Live in Our Neck of the Woods!

Northeastern Pennsylvania is one of the best all-around locations in the U.S. to call home.  It’s a great place to raise your children, the schools are good, the crime rate is low and housing is affordable.  But best of all, the folks are more patient, gentler and kinder.  Life’s pace is good and friends are easier to make.

Access in and out of northeastern Pennsylvania is easy with two airports, 5,600 miles of rail lines and 6 interstate highways.  It’s a straight shot to New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston and Baltimore.

Northeastern Pennsylvania is undergoing an economic renaissance.  Governor Ed Rendell’s $2.3 billion Stimulus Package is the most comprehensive finance package in the country.  Today the area is peppered with new industrial parks that include a variety of businesses from electronics, printing, logistics and healthcare to tourism.  Some of the major employers in the area are Hilton Reservations, Prudential, Highlights for Children, Wise Foods and Penguin Putman books.  Our top industries include healthcare, social assistance, manufacturing and retail.

But we’re most proud of a high quality talented work force with a broad array of talents.

How’s your health?

We take pride in keeping you strong and healthy.  Northeastern Pennsylvania’s robust primary care network means we can help you head off chronic problems.  The region has nearly two dozen hospitals and specialized medical facilities.  Allied Services is well-known in the area for its high quality rehabilitation programs and services.

What about just having fun?

The Pocono Mountains have dozens of hotels and resorts, over 8,000 rooms available and lots of challenging recreational activities all year round.  Outdoor recreation is our primary asset because a good portion of the county is lush and green and includes 150 lakes, 170 river miles, 7 state parks, whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River, hiking trails and ski slopes.  On a quieter note, the region’s culture is peppered with festivals, picnics, arts and crafts events.

For those who would rather be indoors, and if you like music, the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain offers a variety of acts from Dave Matthews to Toby Keith.  If you want a quieter scene there are numerous theatres, museums, libraries and art galleries.  This is also home to the only National Park Service site dedicated to the preservation of steam locomotives.

If you’re a sports enthusiast, and like baseball, northeastern Pennsylvania is home to the Scranton-Wilkes Barre Yankees, the AAA affiliate of the New York Yankees.  The  Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza houses the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penquins of the American Hockey League, affiliated with the Pittsburg Penguins.

Living in northeastern Pennsylvania and working at Allied Services can be the best of life.
